Feb 2017 photography conference
First I must say my heart wasn't fully into going to the conference this year. Sometimes you don't know what you want to learn until you learn it. I had a lot I had to get done here at home and in the studio to get ready for our busy season fast approaching. So, the cost of attending a conference is very expensive: the cost of the actually attending the conference, the time you are away from the studio (not being able to take appts) time away from home, the hotel cost, your meals, it all adds up.
Many of us bought our big expensive cameras with us, but very few ever took one single picture with them. I didn't use it once, just got shots with my cell camera. You see, It's not always about taking pictures at these events, it's all the other things going on. Business classes, networking with other sucessful working photographers, marketing, sales, etc... I can take pictures at home, I'm there to learn other skills, but also to get inspired to shoot creatively. I get a lot of inspiration from going, but I get more after I get back home and implementing.
