We can all agree the holidays are a very special time of year. We all have our own list of things that need to get shopped for, baked, made, planned, ordered, cleaned, scheduled and on and on..............................................................................................................................................................................
Here are a few tips to attempt to keep you happy and sane........no guarantees here, just a few pointers
-
Stick to your holiday traditions, but only if you and those around you LOVE them! Only do the meaningful ones that all enjoy.
-
Choose a few things that are really important to you, Concentrate on those things. Don't try to do it all. Sometimes if you try to do it all nothing comes out really special, focus and make the important things impactful.
-
Gift giving can be a pain in the you know what! Both Financially and emotionally. Perhaps try a theme, and everyone stick to that theme....For example: "Good Old Days" where everyone purchases something vintage, or "Say Cheese" purchases are anything photo related (photo mugs, blankets, framed prints etc...)
-
Request free wrapping when possible
-
Ask for help for Pete's sake! 1) You'll be glad you did 2) others like helping and being involved
-
You don't want to ever say "NO" but sometimes it's necessary and it's actually empowering & makes you feel in control.
-
Keeping stress in doesn't work out so well for most of us. Nothing shameful in getting in your car and letting out a satisfying scream! If not that, then just dance a little.
-
And if you over eat.....(if I was a betting girl, I'd say we are all going to) So what, you probably have every year before this and all was well. Worry about it later and don't stress we are all human, and it's such a big part of the season.
